The NC3Rs and the UK’s Interdepartmental Group on Health Risks from Chemicals (IGHRC) are hosting a one-day workshop on ‘Recent advances in alternative approaches for chemical safety assessment and regulatory perspectives’. The workshop is aimed at UK regulatory risk assessors and government agency toxicologists and will be held in Central London on 19 May 2016.

The workshop will be chaired by Professor Len Levy, Chair of the IGHRC Executive Committee, and will include case-studies on non-animal and alternative approaches to risk assessment with regulatory and industry perspectives, a panel discussion on regulatory challenges and a group discussion considering the question: “How can the UK science base influence the paradigm shift towards more predictive, animal-free safety testing?”.
